Message from the Fire Chief

Greetings,

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Rockingham Fire Department’s new official website. This site has been designed to provide as much information as possible as it relates to our fire department. The Rockingham Fire Department has a proud history of serving the Rockingham NC community for many years. The men and women of the Rockingham Fire Department are committed to providing the highest level of fire protection and emergency service possible. The Rockingham Fire Department has 30 full/part-time members that provide fire protection to a population of nearly 10,000. Outside of our fire district we also provide mutual aid to 8 other fire departments within the Richmond County area serving a total population of 48,000. The Rockingham Fire Department answers nearly 700 emergency calls annually out of 2 strategically located fire stations. Despite the nature of the emergency situation the members of the Rockingham Fire Department are dedicated to responding to the ever changing needs of our community. Our emergency personnel are trained to respond to emergencies such as reported structure fires, car fires, vehicle accidents, vehicle extrications, water rescue, trench rescue, confined space, hazardous material incidents, and much more. On top of these duties the men and women of the Rockingham Fire Department also host and participate in Fire Prevention Activities, and other Public Fire Education Events.

Professionalism, dedication, commitment, respect, loyalty, pride, honesty, and integrity are all core values in which have been adopted by every member of the Rockingham Fire Department. These are the core values in which the members of the Rockingham Fire Department live by.

It is with great pride and honor that I have been chosen to lead the Rockingham Fire Department as Fire Chief in this wonderful City of Rockingham.
